8/2018 print of the month

After an extended break, this is the first offering in several months. It won the facebook poll as favorite of three. I have been photographing various Begonias around our front door for years, from cell phone snaps, film, and to this approach. This is a digital capture, made with an older Zeiss/Contax lens, very fast, and wide open, resulting in a soft focus and very shallow depth of field. I have had plans for a hand made book of selected Begonia images for some time, the best are very sensual and almost alien, very organic. One of many projects as yet unrealized, on an ever growing list!

As with the previous offering, and all to come, the sizing works perfectly in off the shelf 16×20″ frames with standard matte, an opening of 11×14″.  The image will float slightly with room to show the signature. So, the images are a little smaller now, but much easier and economical to get on the wall to enjoy.

All of the offerings, these monthly, and the general uneditioned prints gallery, are here
